Were We Really Just Up And Getting A Classic Mustang

I really haven’t so much had any time to write on my weblog nearly as much as I would’ve liked, owing to how much I’ve been dealing with Dad manage his wild & crazy midlife crisis. True, you might think it isn’t as crazy as it might be. The thing is, the way he played it out was he got all done up like he was Fonzie or something, and come on over to my apartment and tell me, in his “coolest” dialect: “Get ready, son, we are going out vying for some classic Mustangs. You heard that right, brother, I’m going to get myself a real cruiser.”

Next thing I know we were hopping around to a few of those creepy classic car showrooms that everybody is pretty much sure are not quite on the up and up, and I am just awed this wild old guy cut a check within just a few minutes, for a very shiny classic Ford automobile. I have to admit, it’s an intense purchase. It made some great noise as well.

There’s a reason why I phrased that in the past tense. It sounded perfect right until it totally broke down. Dad says that it is just a easy problem and all he needs is the right part. Only thing is, it is not as straightforward to get your hands on classic Ford Mustang parts as it was about 30 years ago, but the old man informs me there is a pretty sizable aftermarket for them regardless. the surest way to get you parts for 1969 Mustangs is via web auctions, because you can find them rebuilt and often better than new. They might not be that inexpensive, though… I mean, we’re talking about half-century old automobile parts.

I guess it could’ve been worse… He could have bought himself a mail-order bride.
